Welcome to BSA Girls Troop 678 - Mercer Island, WA, established February 2019!

For the first time in 100+ years of Scouting history, girls are now able to join BSA! The historic move means girls, just like boys, now get to experience the values-based, life-changing, Instagram-worthy moments offered in all of Scouting’s programs — from Cub Scouting all the way to Scouting’s highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout.

Hello T678 parents,

BSA Chief Seattle Council is offering an IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills) training session at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 17, 2023 (check-in begins before 7:00 PM) through Saturday, November 18, 2023. During this training, you will learn how to build a fire, use an axe, cook outdoors, navigate using a map and compass, responsibly care for the outdoors, and much more. Whether or not you were a Scout as a child, this course will equip you with the skills and knowledge of a seasoned camper. This is a rare opportunity to receive this training in Mercer Island. We need Scouts from our troop to volunteer to be Den Chiefs! Den leaders from pack 624 and pack 668 reached out to our troop. They are looking for scouts to assist them to lead their cub scouts, organize games, and help during activities. The commitment is one meeting a month (plus optional outings during the weekend).

Hello Troop 678 families,

Summer is here! With your huge support and active involvement, the troop had a wonderful year in 2022-23 and successfully wrapped up all regular events for this year. During the summer break, we'll have several summer activities, including Camp Parsons camp, Philmont backpacking trips, Whitewater Rafting, NYLT training, etc. However, please note that there will be no regular troop meetings or committee meetings during the summer. For any urgent matters, please contact the acting Scoutmaster, Jerry Frost, at jsfrost@yahoo.com and the committee chair, Namhee, at namhee33@gmail.com. For any questions relating to summer activities, you'll need to contact the activity leaders directly.
